About the role:

As the first point of contact for our clients, you’ll handle inquiries, coordinate services, and guide customers through our wide selection of framing, printing, and restoration options. Each day brings new and interesting challenges, requiring strong attention to detail, the ability to multitask with a proactive approach. You’ll join a passionate team in a welcoming, art-filled environment and play an important part in delivering smooth, high-quality service.

Job Description: Cuts out and assembles mouldings to make picture frames, and frames paintings, photographs, needlework and other artwork. Skill Level: 3 Key Duties and Responsibilities: Studying drawings, work orders, and sample parts to determine framing specifications Determining tooling, material, and machine requirements and planning the sequence of operations Setting up woodworking machines and wood stock for correct cutting, planning, turning, shaping, and sanding Operating machines to cut, plane, turn, shape, and sand frame components to precise measurements Removing old finishes using steel wool, glasspaper, solvents, and paint strippers; scraping softened finishes as required Applying surface finishes such as varnish, shellac, lacquer, stains, and paint; polishing and waxing finished surfaces Fitting and fastening frame pieces accurately and securely Mounting and assembling artwork, backing materials, and glazing for presentation and preservation Ensuring high standards of quality and attention to detail in all framing work Skills and Experience Required: Minimum 5 years experience in a picture framing environment Skilled in operating woodworking tools and machinery Strong attention to detail and an eye for design Ability to read and interpret drawings and work orders Good manual dexterity and craftsmanship skills Ability to work independently and within a team Job Type: Full-time Schedule: 8 hour shift Experience: picture framing: 5 years (Preferred) Location: Edgewater, WA 6027 (Preferred) How to Apply: Please send your resume to service@artsedge.com.au with at least 2 work related references, and a cover letter with detailed description of experience linked to this role. At Art’s Edge Gallery, we specialize in high-quality art reproduction, capturing masterpieces with precision and care to ensure every detail is preserved. We are seeking a talented Photographer to join our creative team and help us deliver exceptional reproductions for WA’s most talented artists along with archival work for libraries, museums and art collectors. As an Art Reproduction Photographer, you will be responsible for producing accurate and detailed photographic reproductions of artworks. Your expertise will ensure that each piece is captured with the highest fidelity and colour accuracy, maintaining the integrity of the original artwork. This Job is advertised as fulltime however we are flexible for the right canditate. Key Responsibilities: - Set up and operate professional photography equipment, including Hasselblad and Fujifilm Medium format cameras, lighting, and colour calibration tools. - Collaborate with clients and art conservators to understand specific reproduction requirements. - Capture images that accurately reflect the artwork’s colours, textures, and details. - Post-process images to ensure perfect colour matching, brightness, contrast, and sharpness. - Maintain a clean and organized studio or shooting environment. - Keep detailed records of each reproduction project for quality control and archival purposes. - Stay updated on the latest photography and colour management techniques. - Preparing digital files for printing, including resizing, colour correction, and optimizing for specific printers and papers. - Operating large-format inkjet printers, often with specialized pigment-based inks, and maintaining their optimal performance - Choosing the appropriate fine art paper or canvas based on the artist's vision and the technical requirements of the print. - Inspecting prints for any defects or inconsistencies and making necessary adjustments. - Handling prints with care, potentially including mounting, framing, and protective packaging for shipping or display. Experience: - Proven experience in art reproduction photography, fine art, or product photography. - High level of skills and knowledge with studio photography. - Strong understanding of colour management and calibration. - Proficiency with professional camera equipment and lighting setups. - Skilled in image editing software such as Adobe Photoshop. - Skilled using Capture One and Phocus. - Excellent attention to detail and a passion for accuracy. - Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. - Knowledge of art conservation and handling. - Excellent problem solving abilities are a must.
